Question

Strange Command Key behaviour

Lately when I touch or am holding down the Command Key it changes into a pen tool. This happens intermittently but frequently enough to be a problem.

Another issue occurs when I'm using the Command/Shift keys with an arrow key to make incremental movements: it will move in small increments for a few times and then just jumps ahead suddenly to large increments.

Not sure if it's program or keyboard related, since I don't use the Command Key for much outside of InDesign. It did start happening after I upgraded to InDesign 2021.

Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.

We need some more information: Please tell us what operating system (exactly) you're running. Please tell us (exactly) what InDesign version you're using.

I'd suggest trying to restore your InDesign preferences as a first step:

Hi,

I'm on Mojave 10.14.6. InDesign 16.0.2.

But wait, it just happened in Illustrator as well. Command key turns into the Pen tool, which is really strange since the "P" for Pen tool is no where near the Command key.
