strange double text in recent file list

This is weird.

Last file looks normal, as do some above the first in this screenshot.

That is very odd. Short of rebuilding cache/preferences, you might try setting the number of recent files to 0. Restarting InDesign, and then set it back to 20. This will clear the list, and maybe that will take care of it?

What version of InDesign and what operating system are you using? If you restart the computer does this behavior continue?

  1. Are both saved on the same place?
  2. Is it possible to ob both of same at the same time? If you show the document on the Mac without the document frame and you click with holding the command key on the document name in the top of the document window you see where it is saved and you can navigate there.

Only one of each set opens from this list. Something about one of these files is camping on top of others, and the number changed from three to four entries when I resaved it.
