Stripping out old code to apply a new table

Hi,

I have a job where the code is left in <table cols=”2” rules=”topbot” size=”l”><row>Insert:<col>.

I would like to strip out old code to apply a new table style.

How is the best way to achieve this? I am a complete novice when it comes to scripting and this seems very overwheming.

Many thanks.

Hi @OriginationCC27875182tucs, can you tell us more about your situation? I think you are saying that you have some text file, similar to XML, that you want to import, and you want to convert the tags/elements into Indesign objects such as tables? Is that right?

I have a book to follow so would like to set up some kind of action so that when it sees the code, I can highlight it and create the text into a 2 column table.

What is a complete example of a table with all corresponding tags in the document?
