Struggling to get background colour to export to PDF

Hi,

I'm struggling to get my indesign presentation to export the colour of certain pages. I realise that if you change the actual page colour that doesn't export as it is assuming you'll be using coloured paper, however I am not looking to print - I just want to share a PDF version. In the past I put a coloured rectangle in the desired colour at the back of my content which did work but now it doesnt't seem to want to play ball! Any tips would be hugely appreciated, thanks.

Be sure not to add the recolored "White" color to this triangle but instead create a new color swatch and apply it.

Nothing has changed about this. It still is the good way to get a colored background.

I wonder why my coloured rectangle wouldn't be exporting now? I don't think i've changed any settings (that I know of). I also read it can be the settings on Adobe but it's still missing when I view it on my phone

I have found when I export each page as a PNG the colour is there but then I have to make it a PDF from there which seems quite long winded... If anyone has any tips for future presentations that would be great
