Stuck loaded cursor

I am using the latest version of Indesign.  I have a loaded cursor that I can't unload.  I've tried everything but when I move the cursor over a text box the text box or black box shows up and I can't get rid of it.  I have read and tried everything and I'm about to fire this whole computer right out the window lol.  Any ideas anyyone???
