Stuttering lags, Indesign 2017

Hi!

So I'v been using Indsign 2017 for a long while and the last week or so it has begun slowing way down when working on larger filer.
Basically I get stuttering laggs when I try to do anything at all in indesign. Can be anything from moving a image block on the page to trying to use the type tool on a already existing textblock. I can se now real reason to the laggs. The file contains no real images only placeholders, lowering preview has no effect,.

I have been running Macs activity logg alongside the program to see if the hard drive or memory spikes but I can se no connection there either. Neither CPU, hard drive or memory are even used at half of their capacity.

When asking coworkers several recognize the problems, and agree that they have had similar problems. But it comes and goes.

I figured that it might be because we are working towards a server. But moving the file to my hard drive and working from there has no effect on the problem.

Any suggestions?

What are your system specs? Have you tried CC2018?

MacBook Pro (15-inch, 2017)
Processor 2,9 GHz Intel Core i7
Memory 16 GB 2133 MHz LPDDR3

Graphics Radeon Pro 560 4096 MB, Intel HD Graphics 630 1536 MB

Im not using CC2018 since it is so buggy (for example since using the eye drop tool on text styles always crash the program) We also  share documents with other companies where as 2017 is the standard version to use.

Some things to try:

  • Turn off GPU performance
  • Turn off thumbnails in the pages panel
  • Turn off live preflight
  • Be sure that live screen redraw is set to delayed.
