Subscriptions to indesign

You would not need to connect to the internet to use InDesign. However, you will have to connect ocassionally. See the exact details at the link given below

Regarding to your other question, you subscribe to the application like InDesign, Photoshop etc however for all these apps to work properly you have to install the Creative Cloud app as well. The Creative Cloud app is the sort of main controlling app that you would use for many different things like, app(InDesign, Photoshop) installation, updates etc.

First, you can't BUY InDesign. It's only available by subscription.

Second, while you don't need to be continuously connected to the Internet, you need to connect every couple months. I don't know the exact amount of time. Talk to an Adobe rep about that.
