Suggested Fix Not Working : Unable to launch Adobe InDesign as you do not have sufficient permissions to access the preferences folders. Ensure that you have appropriate permissions and then restart Adobe InDesign.

Hi,

I'm running Mac OSx High Sierra and InDesign 13 (with the update).

I last used InDesign in late december.

Today, I'm getting this error - for which I've done all the preferences changes as described in previous posts.

It is not working for me.

Here is the error message:

Unable to launch Adobe InDesign as you do not have sufficient permissions to access the preferences folders. Ensure that you have appropriate permissions and then restart Adobe InDesign.

Thanks in advance for all your help!!!

Leo

This is a problem that I have only recently seen on High Sierra (I'd seen it a number of times with Windows 10). The last thread I saw wound up with the user trashing preferences and reinstalling CC 2018 and even trying an earlier version of InDesign with the same negative results. I would suggest contacting Adobe Customer Support where hopefully they can run diagnostics for you which aren't really available on a user to user forum.

I know this post is really old, but I just had this happen on Windows 10 platform. Uninstalling (and checking the box to delete preferences) and reinstalling did correct the issue.

I stand corrected. I have to uninstall and reinstall EVERY time I try to open the program. It is ridiculous.
