I would like to generate xml documents of tables to import into Indesign. I want to generate them with FileMaker. From FileMaker I generate the document that Indesign updates me.
Can anyone give me suggestions? It is important that I don't lose styles when updating xml tables.
i don't know xml. I have already prepared a version that I am attaching. There are random lyrics.
I import the table into Indesign keeping the contents. I assign styles to the table. Edit xml. The table updates. Works.
But for example how do I define cell styles, character styles and the rest in xml? I wonder if it is possible, how and if it is useful to do it.

Hi @stefanofe ,

Thanks for reaching out. I found this article https://helpx.adobe.com/indesign/using/importing-xml.html which covers XML imports and layout methods. Please try the suggestions and let us know if this helps or if you need any further assistance.
