Telling Indesign where the fonts are

I have a template that uses specific fonts (not installed on the system). The problem is that this template gets copied to several sub folders. Each of the folders needs the "DocumentFonts" folder. How can I tell all templates to just use the "DocumentFonts" folder in the root?

What does this have to do with scripting?

Anyhow, the Document Fonts feature is new and is not designed for this use, and doesn't fit it well.

You could make a symbolic link to a common Document Fonts folder in all of those folders.

Or you could make a copy of the DF folder in each of those folders.

But really, why don't you just install the fonts?
