Text Box Moves When Previewed/Exported

In my document I have alligned two textboxs to line up on their right sides. When I preview or export to a jpg, one of the text boxes moves to the right about 20 pixels. What is causing this? I can show pictures if that would help. Thanks!

Hi Avery R,

it would help if you'd make a sample document available.

Put the file on Dropbox or a similar service and post the download link.

The bug that you are seeing is a very strange one.

The shifting of one element should not happen if you output to JPEG or to any other format.

( An exception would be perhaps Reflowable EPUB. )

is this happening in the actual final document? thats really what matters here. that preview feature is not a true web browser. what format are you going for?

I have not checked yet, my professor wants it to be an ePublication.

right. so you should test it. that preview is not accurate. dont' just go with what you see in the preview. Next, all format have different capabilities/things they don't support.

and ePublication can be different things, such as: Is it epub. interactive .pdf, html via publish online.

So, again. what format are you going for?

Hi Avery R,

what happens if you group the two text frames?

What's your version of InDesign?

What operating system?

This seems to be a bug. You can report it at InDesign UserVoice:

Hello thank you for the response!

Grouping the two text frames did not solve my issue. I am on the latest verion of indesign (16.0 I think), and I am running it on Windows 10.
