Text disappears and becomes overset when dragging text frame onto image

I created a new text frame for captions to drag over images. The text I type into the caption text frame is visible when the text frame is not touching the image frame. As soon as I drag the caption frame and any portion of it goes beyond the edge of the image frame, the text dissappears from the caption frame and a red box showing overset text appears on the caption frame. Why would this happen? Thanks

Have you tried selecting the caption textframe, and Object > Text Frame Options > Select Ignore Text Wrap, and click OK?

Thank you. Yes. Ignoring text wrap worked. Much appreciated!

You have text wrap applied to the image or the frame it's in. You can turn that off or set the text frame to ignore text wrap.
