Text Elements Shifting Erratically When Placing a DOCX with Footnotes in InDesign

Hello,

 

I am trying to place a text.docx with 200+ footnotes in my IndEsign file, but the text seems to go nuts. I have never seens this. I made a short screenrecording, where you can see what happens. 

 


I have no idea what is even happening. I can not make any good layouts, as it keeps shifting ramdon stuff from left to right and from right to left. 

Anyopne have any idea what is happening?

First of all - switch to Screen Mode -> Normal. 

 

Then, turn ON Show Hidden Characters. 

 

If you have access to WORD - save your DOCX as RTF and then place RTF in InDesign.
