Text field order

So I'm creating a resume within InDesign. When I export it to PDF a lot of these application sites are able to scan the PDF and import the information. My issue is that some of them often mix up my most recent and second most recent workplaces (the 3rd and 4th are in order though). I'm trying to fix this so they come in the correct order but not sure how. I've gone through the layers panel, and they all appear to be in the correct order, so not sure what else to do.  Does anyone have thoughts?

  1. Create all fields.
  2. Go through all fields in the order how you fill them, cut and paste them.

Now are in the order how they are activated.

There exists also a command to order them, but it seems to  me more complicated.

Thank you! I created a new document and then "paste in place" between the two documents. I'm going to cross my fingers that it works on my next resume submission!
