Text jumbled after making an edit

I have a screen glitch which often appears when editing text:

In this instance, I changed the style of a paragraph, but many other edits cause the same glitch. If I scroll the error off the screen and back on, it resolves, so this would appear to be a graphics card issue. My computer is a Retina 5K mac, 27" late 2014 running High Sierra 10.13.6 and I am using InDesign CC version 13.1.

You may have inadvertently duplicated a text frame.

I haven't fully tested Derek Cross' reply about duplicated text frames, but I strongly suspect he is right. I have a live text frame in the document mirrored by a text frame in the master. I have deleted the master text frame (InDesign crashed the first time I tried) and tried a few of the edits I had been doing to replicate the error. So far, so good.

I agree with Bill, looks like a graphics glitch. First thing to try is to turn off GPU Performance and see if that helps.

I have noticed the same thing on my Late 2015 Retina 21" iMac running Sierra (it also happened when I was still using El Capitan) with CC 2018. To me it is something "harmless"—I click on the screen again and it resolves—and it is not constant. With something like this (which has no long range consequences) I usually try not to spend the time trying to get to the bottom of it.
