Text justification problems

Hi,

 

I am trying to set up a job that has vertical justification but the book I am trying to replicate has exeptions.

How do I tell my paragraph styles NOT to vertically justify if there is only body text on the page or add it above a header if there is one? Currently it is adding space to make it appear like the leading has increased.

Before you give up, take a few minutes to review how a baseline grid works as per @jmlevy's suggestion.

Thank you for your reply but this doesn't work. It looks like I will need a develeoper to write some exceptions for my job to work effectively.

Unfortunately, it appears this is only something that can be controlled in conditional text or scripts which is beyound my knowledge in design for print. Thank you for your replies and time.

Vertically justification is NOT a Paragraph property, it is controlled via object properties and saved in Object styles. Make different object styles and apply them.

Vertical justification is a frame attribute, not a paragraph attribute.

 

Currently it is adding space to make it appear like the leading has increased.

That is exactly what vertical justification is supposed to do.

 

Instead of using vertical justification, I would advise to align your text on the baseline grid.
