When I change the fill to stroke on a word, the text looks like its turned into curves, but its still editable. And because it's Montserrat, its not merged. The thing is that it only start to happen right now. I've been using this document for a couple months and its been fine.  Anyone experience some close to this and can help me?

Thank you!

Hi Joao,

The correct way to turn type into outlines is to select the textframe with the black Selection tool. and then click on Type > Create Outlines.

It sounds like you are saying that you are using the Type tool to select a word and then you are clicking on the Stroke and/or Fill and or Swap Stroke and Fill buttons in order to get the appearance of a black outlline.

These are two very different things. What really are you trying to do and why?

Hi Mike Witherell,

Its not quite that. I upload a screen recordind to the reply above.
Maybe its more easy to understand.

Thank you.

Hi @joaomvcanhao,

Thanks for sharing the details. Could you please confirm the version of InDesign you're using and the details of your operating system? Also, if you could share a screenshot of what you're seeing, it would help us better understand the issue.

I tried to reproduce the behavior on my end, but everything seems to be working as expected. If possible, please share a short screen recording demonstrating what's happening on your side. That'll help us investigate this further.

Looking forward to your update!

Software versions:
Indesign version 20.3.1
MacOS Sonoma 14.1.2

Thank you!

Hi @joaomvcanhao , I agree with Mike, in your video you are selecting the text object not the text frame:

Select the text frame, then Create Outlines

All the text converts to outlines, which is confirmed in Find/Replace Font
