text threads when moving section

I want to change the order of some sections of the text. I realize now this might have been easier if I had used the Book feature, but that is for another time.

I created the text and had it all threaded correctly. then I selected one section and marked it in the Pages Panel. I chose Allow Spreads to Shuffle in the Options. Then I chose Move to and selected the page after which I wanted that section to appear. I removed the section marker and the pages are now in the order I want.

But the text threads are messed up. In the image you can see the regular in port to outport threads connecting pages. But the straight up and down threads go to where the text used to be located.

Can I just leave this as is or will it do something terrible when it goes to the printer?

Hi,

if nobody must do edits to the document this can stay as is.

Best send an exported PDF to the printers.

Then I suggest that you contact the author of the script.

Best supply your document as well so that he could check what's going wrong.

Strange. Just testing the script again:

I'm on Windows 10 with InDesign. What's your operating system?

Hi muskoka_lake,

if you are unsure, you could un-thread your story that is running criss-cross all over the document.

See into the script BreakTextThread.jsx by Timothy Ariel Walden. If you are using the latest version of InDesign 2020 you have it already installed in the Scripts Panel > Community > BreakTextThread.jsx

Read all about it here: https://www.id-extras.com/break-text-thread/

Before experimenting with it, do a duplicate of your document.

After successfully un-threading all text frames you can thread them again in the order you like.

Thanks for the info. Sounds like just what I need, especially when I can use Paragraphs  style.

I dont know what I am doing wrong. I have Id 2020 and have the texpt box i want to break selected. When I right click and clhoose run script nothing happens. Triedo it multiple times but I don't get the menu to choose where i want the break to occur.

I must be missing something...

I amnot completely done, but I don't think I will have to do anything
with the pages. So would I still be able to do spelling and punctuation
edits?
Thanks for the advice
