Textbox tailoring - adjusting width

If I want to resize a textbox to fit the content, it only works for the height. The width remains the same. What is the reason for this? Is there a trick to adjust the width as well?

Double click the right handle of the text frame, or enable auto size in the text frame options

How InDesign should know how wide - or narrow - you want your TextFrame to be?

Vertically is easy - either cut to the text that's visible - or if there is an overset - try to show as much as possible.

Yeah, i know that, if i press cmd+opt+c it adjust the Textbox according to de hight of the text, not to the width. Is there a solution? A shortcut?

Again - how InDesign should know how wide or narrow you want your TF to be?

Scripting it isn't a problem - but the same problem remains - how script should know how wide TF should be?

Fit to the Text Column defined on the current page - applied Master / Parent Page?
