Morning everyone,
I am really struggling to understand the behavior of the master pages wrt the headers and footers. I have seen a lot of articles and videos and doing exactly as been told. But still cant get it to work. Has anyone had this problem and successfully sorted it out.Please help.

In addition to what Chad said, you may have more than one master page. We don’t know if you created the document or someone else did.
Say that one master called Master A has one column and a footer and another master called Master B has two columns and no footer. The pages using Master A will have the footer; the pages using Master B will not. You can put the footer on Master B and it will then appear on those pages.
That is a very simple explanation, and it can be more complex, as this is a powerful program. If you can open the Pages panel from the Window menu and make it taller and post a screen shot to the forum, we can better assess what you have. There is a dividing line in the panel where the masters are on top and the pages are on the bottom. Please drag that line down so we can see all the masters in your document. That’s important.
