Hello,

i created a layout in an 80 plus page document with crosslinks. A co-worker needed to make edits to the references, did not use the cross-reference panel to update the references, saved the file and made a .pdf.

i opened the indesign file and every cross-reference has a red flag, and i can't refresh.

Do i need to go back and set them up again?

    Hi Jonathan,

    see if the document was exported to IDML and opened again as document.

    You can do this when holding the Ctrl key when accessing "About InDesign". Cmd key when on Mac OS X.

    And yes, I think you have to redo the cross references.

    Or you go back to the backup before your co-worker changed anything and do the changes again.

    Whichever amount of work is smaller.
