Could anybody help me here?

When I opened InDesign today, - everything was just empty on the screen? There was no tools and no art board??

I quit my laptop, and also quit Creative Cloud and started it up again, and opened InDesign - but still I can't work - that's all empty - no tools no art board? I also tried to open version 13.1, and it is the same?

And by the way, it is not that the Tap is on hide/show. -  I see nothing!! -  There is no art board at all,  and no tools on right and left, are gone. I only see this tool at the top, and the rest of the page is empty:

What shall I do???

Thanks a lot for answering me

Correct answer Barb Binder

The Library folder is hidden by default:

  1. Open Finder.
  2. Open the Go menu at the top of your screen.
  3. Hold the Option key—Library will magically appear in the Go menu between Home and Computer.
  4. Click Library and continue with my instructions from above.

Hi haneadino:

Here are instructions on how to reset your preferences: Set preferences in Adobe InDesign and scroll down to "Restore all preferences and default settings".

If that doesn't work, close InDesign again and delete the Adobe InDesign folder and com.adobe.InDesign.plist file: both of which are found in Library:Preferences. When InDesign is next launched it will create new preference files and the program will be restored to its defaults.

Remember that the Library folder is hidden by default so open Finder, open the Go menu and press the Option key and it will appear. And if deleting them makes you nervous, just drag to them to the desktop.

Did you trash your preferences? Are you able to create a new document? Try selecting a workspace from Windows>Workspace it should make your toolbars visible.

No, I have done nothing.

I can't select nothing!! - there is NOTHING on the window screen? As I have written above! No tools, no workspace

What is wrong? I can't work?

If you are not able to select any menu option, no shortcut works then i would suggest you try trashing your preferences and see if it helps. If that also not works i am afraid you would have to reinstall InDesign.
