Question

TOC/Index Page that links to a specific state, not just the simple page.

Hey everyone,

I'm currently working on an ePub for my students that provides a detailed guide on how to play instrument XY. The book has a regular Table of Contents (TOC)/ Index page to help navigate through the different chapters and subpages, as the textbook has become quite extensive. Some of the pages in my book feature up to eight illustrations of sheet music, which can be enlarged by tapping on them. This is made possible by using multiple object states. As these sheet music examples can be played with individual backing tracks, my goal is to include a separate type of index page at the end of the book. This page will list the names of all the song samples that each sheet music illustration refers to. It will allow the reader to easily navigate from the "Song Directory" directly to the specific sheet music illustration in its zoomed state on page XY.

I appreciate any tipps or workarounds on how to achieve this!

There is then the hurdle of making them work as desired in an EPUB. I would not expect a smooth outcome; EPUB is not a stable, modern format especially when stretched to interactive elements.

I've tried this, but it seems to cause some problems with the existing document and I won't be able to get it to work as I'd like. Since it's not really necessary for the finished product, I think I'll leave it as it is for now. Anyway, thanks for your help guys!
