Indesign Drag bar-issues.jpg

Good morning, this has been driving me crazy. So i decided to map it out. I am not really sure what to call the very top Bar, but the areas in green I can click and hold and move the App around, the non-green areas does not move the app. Is this just me? It's so annoying

Any fixes?

Hi @Deefadog,

Thanks for flagging this, I can understand how annoying it can be. I tested this on macOS on my end, and I'm able to see the same behavior in both InDesign and Illustrator, where only certain areas of the app header allow the app window to be dragged. Interestingly, this doesn't happen in Photoshop, where the entire top area behaves as expected.

I'm checking this with the product team to confirm whether this is working as designed in InDesign and Illustrator on macOS or if it's an issue that needs to be addressed. I'll share an update here as soon as I hear back from them.

In the meantime, please let me know if you notice this behavior consistently across all workspaces or if it changes when switching displays or using an external monitor.

Looking forward to your update.

Abhishek

Hey, thanks for the quick reply. This happens across both my Thunderbolt screens and on my mac book Pro Screen. I think this bug appeared around the middle of last year. Although I do manual updates, so I am not sure exactly and what version update it started on.

Thank you for providing the information requested. It appears to be an expected behavior since it remains consistent in the 2024 and 2025 versions on my side. Nonetheless, we will verify this with the team and provide an update here as soon as we receive their feedback.

Thank you,

Harshika
