Trouble logging in to Indesign 2021 without wifi.

I'm need to log on to my older versions of Indesign without wifi.

Working remotely it should still load. But it's still forcing me to sign in on the CLOUD.

Why am I needing to do this? - Can't seem to use the updated cloud version with my historical saved files as ADOBE'S Protectionist Policy with user owned FONTS causes a real PROBELM. The new cloud based version renderes years of historical work, with embedded fonts a real problem now failing to recognise fonts I've purchased and used for decades. Getting fed up with this.

Hi @johnw24248651 , you can use InDesign CC2021 without an internet connection, but it has to be installed on the computer you are working from—that would also be the case with newer versions. However, there will not be an installer available via the Creative Cloud app—only the 2 most recent versions are available for installation, so unless you have an archived version of CC2021 on the computer you are logged into, there will be no way to run CC2021

Also, the only change with locally installed fonts is, Type 1 Postscript fonts are no longer supported. It’s not just Adobe, the latest version of Apple’s MacOS no longer supports Postscript fonts. The end of life for Type 1 has been in the works for years now—most font vendors switched to the OTF format over 20 years ago. If you are trying to protect your legacy Type 1 fonts look at one of the many font converters. This thread might help:

Is it possible that your font issues are related to Type 1 fonts? They're not supported in the recent InDesign versions (as you probably know anyway):

Also, can you please elaborate... Are you referring to InDesign CS6 or some other "older versions"?

Oh ok I missed it, sorry. Then it's normal that CC login is required. I thought that OP was wondering why he needed this for a non-CC version.

@johnw24248651

I've moved your post from Using the Community, for questions about the forums, to InDesign.

From Adobe Help:

"You must connect to the Internet when you want to install Adobe Creative Cloud apps, such as Photoshop and Illustrator. Once the apps are installed on your computer, you don’t need an ongoing Internet connection to use the apps.

"You can use the apps in offline mode with a valid software license for a limited period. The apps attempt to validate your software license every 30 days. You receive a reminder to reconnect to the Internet to validate your license."
