Turn off Share for Review

Each update of InDesign just makes it clunkier and clunkier and yesterday I had multiple lag/crashing issues. I am on Windows, the latest version. One of the issues that I believe is contributing is the green Share button in the top right corner. Today it's just constantly spinning. I NEVER have use of this feature and I'd like to disable it. I'd also like to disable the cloud storage option since again, don't use it.

I've searched the forums, and while these are questioned in some previous posts, they're all older versions and don't have solutions that help with the newer ones.

Any assistance is appreciated.

Thank you!

Hi @Christie22156329p9sm,

Thanks for sharing your experience. Could you let me know if the lag and crashing happens with all files or only specific ones, and if the issue continues after signing out and back into your Creative Cloud account? A short screen recording would also be really helpful for me to test this further.

About the Share button and cloud storage, these features are built into InDesign and can't be fully disabled. Regarding the crashes, were you able to submit a crash report through the Adobe crash reporter dialog? If not, please do so and share the email address you used via DM, so I can check the logs. Also, could you confirm if by 'latest' you mean version 20.5, and share the exact Windows OS version you're running?

Looking forward to your update.

Hi there:
I did not file crash reports because I was on deadline and was just trying desperately to get things done.

Yes, I mean 20.5 and Windows 10.

Let me go on record as saying I can't stand the Share and cloud storage options - especially because they're NOT options. They slow down the software, and in my case, are completely unnecessary. Thanks for your answer even though I did not like it.

I can't stand... cloud storage option

By @Christie22156329p9sm

Can you please clarify what "cloud storage option" you're referring to?

Is it the "Save Cloud Document" button in the Save dialog? If so, then this button doesn't do anything unless you specifically click it. Or is it something else?

P.S. I agree that the huge Share button can be annoying. At least on Mac it can be eliminated, fortunately (although not on Windows).
