Question

Type Tool adding weird spacing in between words so they are sorted in three groupings

As you can see from the screenshot, when I add a new text box using the type tool, it is adding weird spacing in between the words so they are being spaced into these groups of words. I've tried adjusting the default paragrpah setting, changing the spacing between words, see if there's a rule page issue, but nothing has worked. Everything else on the page looks fine it's just when I add a new text box. Please help!

When you post a screen shot of a problem it's useful to have invisibles turned on. It looks to me like your text box is 3 column. Perhaps that is the setting of the "default" object style?

Did you use a normal space or a flush space?

Did you choose correct language and hyphenation?

What are the settings in paragraph styles > Fine Tuning/Justification?

Not sure what a flush space is so I don't think I've used that. Here's the justification settings I have on that I found that someone else suggested on InDesign forum. It works for the spacing in between the words but still does a jump in the spacing.
