Maybe this sounds strange to you now, but since you have shared almost nothing in the way of additional information:
Does the error still occur if you restart your computer, then open InDesign as the only program and try to write in a new document in a text frame?

Also please provide more information about your system: Please tell us what operating system (exactly) you're running. Please tell us (exactly) what InDesign version you're using. Have there been any recent changes in your system (new OS or InDesign version)?
