Question

typefaces suddenly missing

Several different fonts are suddenly not working on my computer.

I have been using these documents and their templates for 4 years and suddenly they are considered "Missing" even when I'm looking right at them.

It does not allow me to directly assign it to any other font as well.

Yes, I have restarted InDesign, my computer, and Creative Cloud. I have updated everything, even my OS.

When I sign out of CC and then back in, the font issue will stop momentarily. In my font book, these fonts have duplicates. Resolving the duplicates is also a temporary fix.

I am out of ideas. Please help.

Thanks, Nancy. But this did not work.

    Any other suggestions?

It's not uncommon for system fonts to become corrupted.

    • Which operating system?
    • Which fonts are effected?

Meanwhile, I'm moving this post from Get Started to InDesign.

    MacOS High Sierra, 10.13.6

The fonts effected so far have been Avenir, Avenir Next Condensed, Chalkboard, Chalkboard SE, FuturaPT, and Gill Sans.

Square brackets around a font means the font is missing.
