Unable to Export PDF – Previously Working InDesign File

I'm having trouble exporting a PDF from an InDesign document that previously exported without any issues. It's a 196-page travel brochure that I've exported for print last year with no problems.

Now, after revisiting the file, InDesign refuses to export the PDF. There are no missing links, and I've checked for any common errors. Nothing seems out of place, but the export just won't complete.

Has anyone experienced this with large documents or after revisiting older projects? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance!

What version of InDesign? What operating system? Any error messages?

Try divide and conquer. Export the first half of the document. If it works, try the other half. Keep splitting things in half until you find the culprit.

I'm using the latest version of Creative Cloud on Windows OS.

I’ve already tried the divide-and-conquer method. I can successfully export the first 100 pages, but I get an error when exporting the full document - it reports an error on page 117. However, when I try to export just pages 118 onward, I get an error that says there's an issue on an earlier page number which changes, which is confusing.

I've also attempted to package the file, but that process fails as well.

Attached is the exact error message I'm seeing.

Export the file to IDML and try working on that.
