Unable to open InDesign on macbook machine

Hey,

I really hope that someone can help me!

I'm working from my macbook Pro, but i can't open my inDesign. I have to uninstal it and install it again every time I have to use the aplication, if I want it to work.  And that's simply just a waste of time.
My macbook is from 2023 so that can't be the issue.

- Is anyone familiar with this problem?

If you're running InDesign 18.5, then it appears that many users experience the same issue (judging by the amount of similar posts on the forum).

First, update to macOS 13.5. It solved the issue for some users.

If it doesn't help, then users recommend to install an earlier version - preferably 18.3. You can do it from the Creative Cloud app:

Derek's advice is absolutely the first thing you want to do.

After the complete cleanup/install, you may find you still have startup issues. If that's the case, you can try clearing caches and preferences and see if it's a better cure than uninstalling/reinstalling InDesign. It's certainly a faster one, if it works for you. You can learn more about clearing preferences through this link.

I know it's nothing more than cold comfort, but you're not the only one dealing with these issues. When I opened up the first page in this InDesign forums, there were three posts about the same issue. So you're not alone.

Hope this helps,

Randy

Try uninstalling InDesign using the Adobe Cleaner Tool and reinstalling InDesign again.

(Then closing and reopening the application.)
