Unable to resize both box and its content by holding command key in Indesign 18.2 version

Dear Adobe, I have been using InDesign since its very first release. The latest version has introduced a number of changes which I am finding very frustrating and I fail to see why they have been made.

My most serious problem is that I can no longer simultaeneously resize both a box and its content by holding down the Command key. Secondly, I can no longer constrain proportions while resizing by holding doen the Shift key.

Why have these changes been made and how can I workaround them?

I currently cannot work on my projects as these are functions I use constantly.

Thanks and best wishes,

Richard

Thanks Steve,

I have found the culprit - a 3rd party screenshot app. After uninstalling that my keybord shortcuits are working again correctly in InDesign.

Many thanks to everyone here for your help in resolving this.

Best wishes,

Richard

Did you skip a bunch of upgrades? There were some changes quite some time ago with auto-fit that did affect this, but it's nothing that can't be overcome.

Nothings changed here, still works. Third party app interfering?

Adding to Steve's advice, just because he didn't say it outright, those features have not changed.

Here are two things you can try:

(1) When you a major update, sometimes it's helpful to restore your InDesign preferences and caches, This article explains how:

(2) The second thing is that there could be an application or extension which is grabbing your keyboard shortcuts like Command or Shift. It's easy to test this: Quit out of InDesign and restart your computer. As you're starting up, hold down the Shift key to disable startup applications. Then IMMEDIATELY open InDesign and see if the keyboard shortcut which was the problem is now working. If it is, they there is some app or extension which is interfering. Open apps one at a time, and test whether the keyboard shortcut is working to find the culprit.
