My colleague was working on InCopy version and all of a sudden the application quit unexpectedly. The file can't be reopen, when I try to open it this error message keep popping up.

When I open the InDesign file, the link to the InCopy is showing "Unclosed Token." Can this file be saved?

I appreciate any inputs.

I appreciate the suggestion. The solution that I did was to fix source codes manually. Apparently, you can open the icml file using TextEdit. As I open the xml file and investigate more, I saw so many broken codes that were caused by the application crashed. Once, I fix all of these problems I can open the file both in Indesign and Incopy.  Not easy nor ideal, but it works and my collegue doesn't have to start from scratch.

Try to embed it from the links panel and then export it back out to InCopy.
