Uneven lines in tables

Not sure if I'm picking up some formatting from Excel, or if it's something I can fix in InDesign -- either way I'm flummoxed.

Take a look at the screen captures. I've got one line extending all the way to the end of the text box and the others inset. Then on another table, I've got the exact opposite issue.

The data for the table was brought in directly from Excel.

Looks like you might have a white border set for the left side. Change the paper color to a medium gray to see if there’s anything there.

Sadly, no white border. I was so hoping that was the case. Thanks for the good thinking though, I hadn't even considered that as a possibility. Here's a screenshot with a gray back:

Did you use the Place command or copy and paste?  Choose Import Options when using Place gives you more control to strip out Excel formatting that doesn't work well in InDesign. Copy and paste from Excel or from websites can definitely cause difficult to edit weirdness.
