unintended arabic settings messing my docs

Hello,

A month ago I worked on an arabic language project in illustrator. Today I opened indesign and it looks like it's messed up here. I do not want to work in arabic anymore - either in illusrator or indesign.

I'd like to restore the settings to factory settings. I uninstalled the entire suite and installed again, and yet it's all messed up. Please find attached a screenshot on what it looks like when I try to place a file. It seems like it wants to place it arabic way - right to left. also included is indesign file.

I am about to lose my mind. Kindly help!

Well, to get a Middle East edition of Illustrator installed, you probably had to go into the File -> Preferences of the Creative Cloud app and change your language to "English (اللغة العربية)". Did you change it back to your preferred non-Arabic  language?

Or did you do the job without installing a version with right-to-left tools? If that's the case, it sounds like your preferences in your non-Arabic install of InDesign are damaged. A complete uninstall/reinstall of the suite probably left your old preferences intact. If you wind up needing to reinstall again, next time use the Adobe Creative Cloud Cleaner to really wipe the slate clean.
