Thanks for the information. This helps. And please don't worry about the hurry — when problems crop up, it's sometimes challenging to look back at the details when the alarms go off.

For what it's worth, I'm running much the same configuration as you — I haven't updated to IDCC2026 yet, but otherwise I'm running much the same configuration as you on the latest model Mac Mini. I am also running a later version of the RightFont app — v.9.7. But I'm pretty much equipped as you are.

Since the the main thing that's changed is installing a few fonts into your font manager, perhaps the first thing to try is turning off RightFont, then trying to open IDCC2025 if you still have it installed:

1) Restart the system

2) Quit RightFont

3) Then try to start InDesign

It may or may not fix the issue, but we can at least eliminate the variable. There's also an incremental update to InDesign CC 2025, v.20.5.1, that you may want to try next.

I'll confess that I'm making guesses here, because I haven't heard of anyone having the issues you're experiencing. That's not to deny the problems you're obviously having, because you wouldn't have asked for help here if you weren't having them. But it's rather atypical, so perhaps the best, and simplest way to start is with the basics.

I hope this helps. But if it doesn't, feel free to come back here and sound the alarm. We can try and help you through this and get you up and running the way you expect. There are lots of sharp people around here who may be able to lend a hand.

Ok, it wasn't RightFont. It was something with the Indesign cache and/or preferences. I deleted the cache and reset the preferences. Now the program is working again. But thank you for your time.

Very hard tellin' without knowin' a lot of information you haven't provided us:

What version of InDesign?

Mac or PC? With what version of operating system?

When did the messages first appear? Was it after updating InDesign/other software on your system?

Is it only happening with InDesign? Or does it happen with other Adobe applications/other software you have installed on your system?

With more information, it's much more likely we can help you with your issues. We want to help, but we need more information on what's happening befoe we can help you.

Hi Randy,
Sorry about that, I was a bit in a hurry. Here are the missing informations:

Indesign 2025 (Version 20.5) but I got the same issue in Indesign 2026 (Version 21)

System: macOS Sequoia 15.6.1 (I didn’t update system yet because there seem to be major problems with Adobe Illustrator)

The message first appeared last week, I think Thursday. I did not do any updates then. Only thing I maybe did then was installing some fonts with the RightFont app (Version 8.6).

This only occurs in Indesign.

Thanks, Silvan
