Hi

where can I find the Patch for Indesign CS6 to version 8.1? We use CS6 with version 8.0.2 but we are NO CC customers!

Or do only CC customers get this Patch?

Thank You

Hi again,

after a reinstallation of Indesign on the windows pc the update program found the patch for 8.1 and installed it. It seems to work even without a CC subscription.

Hi @all and thanks for your responses.

OS is "Windows 7 German" and I understand that this patch might be for CC users only

AFAIK, the 8.1 patch was for Creative Cloud subscribers only.

Hi Bob,

others and I asked, but never heard something definitive or official about that.

I also don't know if Adobe is treating different regions of the world differently in this.

Uwe, also in Germany, 8.1 is only for CC subscribers. That is why this version has more compatiblity to newer systems than the boxed version.

What is your OS version?

For Mac OSX I managed to update from 8.0.2 to 8.1 by simply using the "Help" menu of InDesign. InDesign found the 8.1 update automatically. However this was on OSX 10.6.8 German. One one of my colleagues ( no CC customer ) did it recently on Mac OSX 10.9 German. First installed 8.0 by using a downloadable dmg installer file, then updated to 8.0.2 also using a downloadable dmg file and finally used InDesign's own "looking for updates" mechanism.

For Windows it might be harder ( or impossible? )…
( I'm not sure, because I found 8.1 installed on several of my clients' Windows 7 machines. )

Regards,
Uwe
