Question

'updating InDesign'

I format a four page newspaper every two weeks.  I use InDesign.  This is the only time I use InDesign and I long ago figured out how to make my layout 'pretty'. Lately the program has changed so that when I open it I no longer find the icons at the top (such as 'cut').  I find this entirely annoying and very frustrating.  I don't know the program sufficiently well to figure out how to get those icons to pop back up nor do I know where to find them.  Help pls.  (I did find 'Tools' for my sidebar, which is a help, but not all I need).

What version of InDesign (please ask if you don't know how to find out)? What system?

I use the 2019 version of InDesign on a Mac.

While I was doing endless noodling around to try to fix my problem I clicked on the "printing and

proofing' version of InDesign.  Never seen this before but it pretty well replicates the task bars I need.  Now I don't know how to allow my layout to show the margins and columns I'm used to working with.  I simply can't remember which combination of letters will give this to me.  thanks in advance for your help.

Without anything selected press "w". Toggles normal view on and off.
