Hello,

Currently we still work with Indesign CC Server 2017 on Windows Server.

In the next couple of weeks, we want to start working with Indesing CC Server 2019

As far as i understood, our serialno will cover both versions, but what is the best solution to do the upgrade,

I can image doing the following steps:

-stop service

-via mmc remove several server instances

-uninstall service

-uninstall via program and settings Adobe Indesign Server CC 2017

-Install Indesign Server CC 2019.  (i assume that i have to submit serial number and Adobe ID)

-install service

-add via mmc indesign service instances listening to different port numbers

-start service

Are there any steps forgotten, or not correct?

Thanks,

Johan Wieland

You can skip the steps of removing your server instances. In my experience, the instances will still exist and be used when you install the new version. It's not the biggest deal, to recreate them, but it's nice to save a few minutes.

As far as submitting the serial number, I believe you have to use the Adobe Provisioning Toolkit app and submit the serial number via command prompt. I usually do that last, after installing the new version, installing the service, and checking instances/ports.
