Uploading Indesign Snippets on Adobe CC Library

Hi all, is it possible to upload InDesign snippets directly to the Adobe CC Library?

At the moment, it doesn't seem to allow me to upload snippets directly. I have to place each snippet onto a page first and then add it to the CC Library. Since I have thousands of snippets to upload, this process is very time-consuming.

Does anyone know of a faster or more efficient way to upload them?

Maybe this could be a work-around: put all your snippets on an InDesign document page or pages. Save-As to an InDesign Template .indt file. Upload that directly into CC Libraries.

Hi, good question — unfortunately, snippet files (.idms / .inds) can't be added to a CC Library directly. A library asset has to be created from objects that are already in a document, so the snippet files themselves aren't accepted as uploads.

You can speed up the placing step, though: choose File > Place, select more than one snippet file in the dialog (Shift- or Ctrl-click), and InDesign loads them all into the place cursor. You can then click to place them one after another instead of using the Place dialog for every single file. Each placed snippet still needs to be added to the library separately if you want to keep them as individual library assets.

Adobe's help page on placing snippets (including selecting multiple files) is here: https://helpx.adobe.com/indesign/desktop/add-graphics-and-media/object-libraries-and-snippets/create-add-snippets.html

Hope that helps save some time!
