Uppercase (TT) Versaleszett

Thanks for your response! I know how to work around it for now, but it would be great if this feature were included in a future update.
Especially since the character was officially made the rule rather than the exception for a capital ß from this year.

I use macOS 14.7 and inDesign 19.5.

Hi @Sheehan287497557wov,

Thank you for reaching out and sharing this! I understand how the automatic conversion of "ß" to "SS" in uppercase can be frustrating, especially when your font supports the Versal Eszett (uppercase ß).

Could you please let me know which version of InDesign and the operating system you're using?

In the meantime, one solution is to manually input the Versal Eszett (uppercase ß) if your font supports it. You can use Glyps Panel (Type > Glyphs) to select and insert the character directly, or use Unicode (U+1E9E) if the font allows it. This can prevent the automatic conversion to "SS."

Let me know if this helps, or if there’s anything else I can assist you with!

Thank you,
Abhishek Rao

Using a paragraph style to control the text, what happens if you turn on or turn off *ligatures* within the paragraph style?
