User script not showing up

I've got a number of scripts in my

C:\Users\[USERNAME]\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\InDesign\Version 20.0\en_GB\Scripts\Scripts Panel

folder. Yup, using Windows.  These can be accessed within InDesign from theScripts menu. So far so good.

However, it doesn't seem to show files that start with an underscore like  _Gwen_Stefani.jsx

Whatcha got against Gwen, huh Adobe?

Or is this another overlooked feature?

Thanks for getting back to me.
I specifially have a temp script file (for messing about with) that's prefixed with an underscore simply so that it's always at the top of the list and just easier to find.

But we can change it to -Gwen-Stefani.jsx to get to the top of the list!

Hi @Ghoul Fool,

Thanks for bringing this up. InDesign doesn't officially document any restriction on scripts starting with an underscore, but in practice, certain naming conventions can sometimes cause scripts to be hidden or ignored in the Scripts panel. This might be related to how the system or app interprets file visibility.

I recommend renaming your script without the leading underscore (for example, change _Gwen_Stefani.jsx to Gwen_Stefani.jsx) and then relaunching InDesign. It should then appear in the Scripts panel as expected.

Please give this a try and let me know if it works for you.

Looking forward to your update!

Abhishek
