Using InDesign (Beta) to convert PDf to IND

I am currently trying to convert a 58 page PDF into a fully editable InDesign document and found this article from 10/17/24 showing that the InDesign (Beta) version can do just that. However, after installing and opening the beta version I am met with a window that states "Your InDesign (Beta) build has expired." and the app closes... anyone have any insights on this? Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you

ah okay so for whatever reason this was the issue. I rebooted my computer and then signed out and back into Creative Cloud a few times until it said there was an update for both the standard InDesign and the Beta version

I think with the release of InDesign 20.0 there is an updated beta version of InDesign available for download from Creative Cloud, which replaces the earlier beta version.

Interesting... my Adobe Cloud is showing v19.5 as the most up-to-date version

First, if you do need to convert your 58-page PDF to InDesign for actual practical purposes, then the results produced with the current InDesign beta will unlikely be satisfactory yet. This feature is still in its infancy. There are already several  commercial products and online converters that can do this for you; just google "pdf to InDesign converters" (as you may know anyway).

As to why your beta is already expired upon installation, then frankly I'm not sure. Try to use Help > Check for Updates in the Creative Cloud app, sometimes it refreshes some outdated things. Or maybe you just need to wait for a new beta. Beta availability can also depend on your location.
