Using the Eyedropper to sample a column in tables - HELP!

Ok I thought this would be simple but it isn't.

I have taken a job on with tables set up, all I do is copy and paste and get them in the right format.

However I need to sample the first table to get the lines around (please see pic).

When I highlight it and use hte eyedropper it either changes it to a different colour, all white or does nothing.

Is there a simple way to copy and paste that style that I need?

thank you in advance for your help.

I figured it out, it wasn't working because I wasn't clicking the clear overrides button.

Thank you for your help George.

So I have set up a cell style - however it isn't keeping the stroke style, I have it set as one line underneath at 0.25 but when I apply it there's no line coming up and in the cell styles.

Any ideas?
