I'm relinking some illustrations in Indesign, and it now wants to show all the white space from the illustator page.

Previously it automaticalluy clipped the white space, giving you the illustation at the maximum size?

Thanks everyone, it seems to be setting on the machine.

I've tried my laptop with the same file and image and its working as before.

Thanks for the help so far, I dont think I described the problem very clearly

The left hand t-shirt is same as the rignt one, when I drag and drop the updated ai file in the frame it appears including all the space available on the illustartor artboard.

When previously it clipped as the unused space

Can you show us what it looked like previously. That is still not clear to me.

  • Did you turn on the transparency raster in Illustrator?
  • What cliping path from Illustrator are you talking about? Illustrator has no clipping paths?
  • What file type did you use from Illustrator to place into Indesign?

When placing turn on the Show Import Options checkbox:

This will give you an option to choose how you want to crop the Illustrator image:
