version 21.5.1, insert photo, can't save the file

After I place photo in the file, I can’t save the file. This problem occurs regardless of the file format or path.

The problem actually started after updating to 21.5.1. I am trying to revert files to earlier version and working on it. I think it is a problem of version 21.5.1. Thanks for you reply.

there’s no need to revert your files. you can simply revert to an earlier version then open your existing files (as long as it’s still v21.x).

I downloaded 21.4.1, and I think I can use this version to edit my files. Thank you so much.

First question: did you try to disable Generative AI options in preferences?

Did the problem start after updating to 21.5.1? If so, try to revert to an earlier version as a test: Creative Cloud app > InDesign > 3-dot menu > Other Versions. Will it make a difference?
