Video doesn't autoplay when document is published.

The video in my InDesign documents is set to play when the page loads. In the preview it autoplays just fine but when I publish it online it doesn't. You have to click the play button. Any suggestions?

Thanks, everyone. I figured this out shortly after I made the post. Unfortunately, this document will be going to people who probably have their browser autoplay setting on default, which is to not play on page load. Nothing I can do about that.

Depends on the broser, most browsers these days prevent auto play. You have to change this in the browser itself.

Frans is exactly right. I was confusing auto-play with appearance of the controller, which always comes up, and which I am accustomed to. Changing in the browser does the trick, but by default, this setting would mostly be off.

In Safari, it's Preferences > Websites > Autoplay (on left), then choose the sites you want to allow.
