Visualization Errors in Indesign

I am experiencing visualization errors when scrolling/zooming my document (also happens when moving objects). Tried deactivating GPU in preferences, but no luck.

Tried to uninstall and reinstall Indesign but still no luck.

I work with a macbook pro with a Benq 32" external screen attached with HDMI, and the bug only seem to happen on the external screen.

This never happened before and I didn't do any hardware change, so I'm at a loss.

Any idea on how to resolve this?

Indesign version is 17.0.1

Mac Os Version: Monterey 12.1

I still have this problem even with the update. I don't understand why I need to turn off GPU performance and lose that smooth zooming, etc. I have a top-of-the-line Mac. I shouldn't have to do that. None of the other Adobe products do this for me, which makes it feel like an Adobe problem, not my computer setting problem.

Hi @Chris27881302o5bh,

Thanks for reaching out, and I completely understand how frustrating this must be, especially when working on a high-performance Mac. Let’s gather some more details to investigate this further:

1. Could you confirm the version of InDesign you’re using?

2. Please share your macOS version.

3. Are you using an external display? If yes, could you provide the make and model of the monitor? What is the resolution of the display? How is the monitor connected to your Mac? Are you using HDMI, DisplayPort, or USB-C?

4. Could you share the specifications of your Mac (e.g., processor, RAM, and GPU)?

5. If possible, could you share a short screen recording of the issue? This will help us better understand the problem and suggest more precise solutions.

Looking forward to your response!

Best,
Abhishek Rao

Any other idea? I tried uninstalling and reinstalling Indesign (deleting preferences), I tried installing a previous version (17), I tried changing cables to connect to the external screen, but the bug persists and makes it impossible to work on a large screen. All other apps (including CC apps) work just fine on the external screen, I am only experiencing this with Indesign and until a couple of weeks ago it worked fine.

Turn off GPU Performance in InDesign preferences.

As I wrote in the original post, I tried it but the unfortunately bug persists.
