What happens to my InDesign 5 if I subscribe to InDesign Online?

What happens to my old InDesign and CS5 if I decide to subscribe to InDesign or CC online? Does the subscription solftware overwrite my older software? We are in the country and have slow internet via the phone line with a virtual DSL connection. Will I have issues with uploading/downloading files? Graphic files are kind of huge, so these are both concerns to me.

Correct. It should not be removed. But ALWAYS be careful with Creative Cloud updates to make sure Remove Previous Versions is not checked.

CC is no different than any earlier version. It is installed locally and you can save your files where ever you want.

So, in other words, my older copy will not be affected if I subscribe to the online version?

I'm new to these forums. I searched "InDesign forum" and didn't see my post.
