According to ID CS4 scripting book, it says that the doucment should be svaved at once , before getting an document fullname.

But if the doucment is saved and existsed in disk. while user opened it , the document.fullname function will raise an error: can not get fullname ,because

it not saved, Why?

Compare to ID 2.0 , the documnet.fullname works fine, why not ID CS4.

So, ID 2.0 is better than ID CS4 in this case?

ro, there is some mystery story that I do not know?

My guess is that this happens because you opened — in other words converted — a file created in an earlier version of InDesign, so you have to resave it.

Is the file from a previous version?

When you open a file saved by a previous version, the file is

converted, and is the same as a new file until saved.
